JOB DESCRIPTION

Music and singing teachers instruct students in various musical genres and expression forms, such as classical, jazz, folk, pop, blues, rock, electronic etc. in a recreational context. They assist students to experiment with different styles and techniques, through singing or with the musical instrument of their choice while encouraging them to develop their own style. They cast, direct, and produce musical performances, and coordinate the technical production.

QUALIFICATIONS

Entry is possible with a variety of academic qualifications, professional qualifications and/or relevant experience. A DBS check may be required.

TASKS

  • Designs and implements methods of assessing the performance of students, co-ordinates and undertakes the evaluation of assessments and awards grades of merit based upon performance.
  • Provides private academic, vocational and other instruction to individuals or groups.
  • Teaches in private music and dancing schools, training centres and similar establishments.
